Welcome to 1x Jobs. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of http://1xjobs.ca and the services available through the 1x Jobs platform.
By creating an account, posting a job, purchasing Contact Access, contacting another user, or otherwise using 1x Jobs, you agree to these Terms.
- About 1x Jobs
1x Jobs is an online marketplace designed to connect people who need help with one-time jobs with people interested in completing those jobs.
1x Jobs provides the platform for users to find, post, and connect about opportunities. 1x Jobs is not the employer, employee, contractor, agent, or representative of users who post or complete jobs.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, agreements regarding the completion of a job are made directly between users.
- Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use 1x Jobs.
By using the platform, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are legally able to enter into agreements related to jobs you post or accept.
- User Accounts
You are responsible for:
Providing accurate account information.
Keeping your login information secure.
Activities that occur through your account.
Updating your information when necessary.
One account may be used both to post jobs and to find jobs.
You may not impersonate another person, create misleading accounts, or use another person’s account without permission.
- Posting Jobs
Job posters are responsible for providing accurate information about the job, including its nature, location or area, expected duration, and pay.
Every listing must include a base pay of at least $10 CAD.
If multiple people are needed for a job, the listing should clearly state the pay offered per person.
Job posters must not intentionally misrepresent the work, compensation, location, requirements, or other important details of a listing.
1x Jobs may review, edit, reject, remove, suspend, or decline to publish listings that violate these Terms, platform rules, or applicable law.
- Finding and Completing Jobs
Users interested in completing jobs are responsible for deciding which opportunities are appropriate for them.
Before agreeing to a job, users should independently confirm any information they consider important, including:
The work being requested.
Compensation.
Location.
Expected duration.
Tools, transportation, or materials required.
Any qualifications or experience expected.
1x Jobs does not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, safety, suitability, or conduct of any user or listing.
- Contact Access
Browsing available jobs is free.
Users who want to initiate contact with job posters may be required to purchase 30-Day Contact Access for $3.99 CAD.
Contact Access provides the ability to contact job posters through eligible platform features for 30 days.
Purchasing Contact Access does not guarantee:
A response from a job poster.
Selection for a job.
Any particular number of available jobs.
Earnings or employment.
Successful completion of a job.
Contact Access is subject to the separate Refund Policy published on http://1xjobs.ca.
- Payments for Jobs
1x Jobs does not process payment between job posters and people completing jobs.
Users arrange and complete job payments directly with one another outside the platform.
1x Jobs is not responsible for:
Unpaid or partially paid work.
Payment disputes.
Chargebacks or reversed payments between users.
Cash transactions.
Taxes relating to income earned through jobs.
Agreements users make regarding payment.
Users are responsible for deciding how and when job payments will be made.
- Independent Relationships Between Users
Using 1x Jobs does not create an employment relationship between 1x Jobs and any user.
1x Jobs does not determine how a job must be performed, supervise users completing jobs, establish employment schedules, or employ users who find opportunities through the platform.
Users are responsible for understanding their own legal, tax, licensing, insurance, and other obligations relating to jobs they post or complete.
- Safety and User Responsibility
Users are responsible for exercising reasonable judgment when interacting with people they meet through 1x Jobs.
You are responsible for deciding whether to:
Meet another user.
Enter a private residence or property.
Invite another user onto your property.
Accept or complete a particular job.
Share personal information.
Use particular tools or equipment.
1x Jobs cannot guarantee the identity, background, qualifications, intentions, or conduct of every user.
- Prohibited Jobs and Conduct
You may not use 1x Jobs to post, request, promote, arrange, or participate in unlawful activity.
You may also not use the platform to:
Harass, threaten, discriminate against, exploit, or deceive another user.
Post fraudulent or intentionally misleading listings.
Request illegal goods or services.
Promote violence or dangerous illegal activity.
Post sexually exploitative or otherwise unlawful content.
Spam users or misuse platform messaging.
Collect user information for unauthorized marketing or unrelated purposes.
Attempt to bypass, disrupt, damage, or interfere with the platform.
Use the platform in a way that could harm other users or 1x Jobs.
1x Jobs may remove content or restrict accounts when reasonably necessary to protect the platform, its users, or comply with legal obligations.
- Listing Approval and Removal
Listings may be subject to review before appearing publicly.
Approval of a listing does not mean that 1x Jobs endorses, verifies, guarantees, or accepts responsibility for the job or the person who posted it.
1x Jobs may remove or suspend listings that are expired, misleading, inappropriate, prohibited, reported, or otherwise inconsistent with platform rules.
- User Content
You remain responsible for content you submit to 1x Jobs, including listing descriptions, photographs, profile information, and messages.
By submitting content to the platform, you give 1x Jobs permission to display and use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, promote, and improve the service.
You must have the right to submit any content you upload.
- Platform Availability
We aim to keep 1x Jobs available and functioning properly, but uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed.
The website may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical problems, updates, hosting issues, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Features may also be changed, added, removed, or updated as the platform develops.
- Account Suspension or Termination
1x Jobs may restrict, suspend, or terminate an account when there is a reasonable basis to believe that a user:
Violated these Terms.
Misused the platform.
Created fraudulent or misleading content.
Posed a risk to other users.
Attempted to interfere with the platform.
Engaged in unlawful activity.
Where appropriate, listings or other content associated with an account may also be removed.
Users may stop using 1x Jobs at any time.
- Disputes Between Users
Users are responsible for resolving disputes arising from jobs arranged through the platform.
Because 1x Jobs is not a party to agreements between users, 1x Jobs is generally not responsible for resolving disputes involving job performance, quality of work, cancellations, property damage, injuries, payment, or other disagreements between users.
Users may report concerning behaviour to Support@1xjobs.ca so that appropriate platform action can be considered.
- Disclaimer
1x Jobs provides a marketplace and communication platform.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the platform is provided without guarantees that any particular user, job, listing, communication, payment arrangement, or outcome will meet your expectations.
You are responsible for evaluating opportunities and making your own decisions about interacting or contracting with other users.
- Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, 1x Jobs is not responsible for losses, damages, injuries, disputes, unpaid amounts, property damage, or other consequences arising from agreements or interactions between users.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
- Privacy
Use of 1x Jobs is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how personal information is collected, used, and handled.
- Refunds
Purchases of Contact Access are subject to the 1x Jobs Refund Policy.
- Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated as 1x Jobs develops or as operational or legal requirements change.
When changes are made, the updated version will be posted on http://1xjobs.ca with a revised “Last updated” date.
Continued use of the platform after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms where permitted by law.
- Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in Manitoba, Canada, subject to any mandatory rights or protections that apply under applicable law.
